About Carrie

My career path since graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in English degree in 2006 has looked more like a winding, mountain road than it has a straight and narrow highway. I am Certified Career Services Provider and a Global Career Development Facilitator. I know, for the vast majority, this means absolutely nothing. But for me, it means that I finally put action to my words and followed my own professional advice–and that of what I believe is God’s direction in writing historical fiction with relatable, fallible, and believable characters and their own journeys in understanding their identities in Christ. With a little luck — and a whole lot of prayer — I’ll see the fruits of my labor in a finished, published product. And–Lord willing–more books to come.

A few fun facts about me:

  • I didn’t enjoy coffee until I had my first son, Parker, in 2015 when it became a necessity.
  • Since elementary school, I’ve been obsessed with the 1940s. My mother recently mailed a story I wrote set during World War II that I submitted to a contest back in the fifth grade (and won for my grade at the school level). I hope to re-write it and post on the blog at some point!
  • I bought a KitchenAid mixer during the pandemic, determined to finally understand concepts of baking. The results have been hilarious (and I may or may not have submitted an application to Netflix’s Nailed It!)
  • I live with my husband and two adorable red-headed kiddos in Western North Carolina. They are, hands down, the greatest gifts God has given me.
